Audit Reflection

The company my group and I were partnered with talked about the startup of the company and what the future is looking like for them. We then discussed how they could keep the company on track to reach future goals they have set. One way we discussed was being more active on social media and making their posts to social media a little more scheduled. I was personally surprised by what they as a company had already been trying to accomplish with social media prior to our visit with them. They have a great presence on Facebook which is perfect for the people they are targeting. With that being said if you add another platform to that and get a presence on there you are instantly getting more publicity, even if its as simple as linking your Facebook to your Instagram, which we showed our client how to do. They do indeed have a Twitter as well but it is not up to date as the last time they posted on it was close to 2 years ago. This goes back to a goal we set with them which is to. post a little more frequently and especially get that twitter back up and going. It makes sense for them to get Twitter back up and going because they did have a decent amount of following on their Twitter prior to them becoming inactive. I did learn though that for some companies especially ones like ours, other platforms other than maybe Facebook and a website aren’t as useful as we may think because of the people they are targeting. We talked to our client about the new opportunities they could present themselves with if in fact they were present on other platforms. A business like ours that uses volunteers, would benefit from the use of Twitter and Instagram because it would attract more students and young adults to volunteer for them. Especially here in Fremont where Midland University students are required to get volunteer hours. Not only that but you could get different sporting teams in on this too. Our client stated that last year the Midland Men’s Basketball team came in and put in a few hours. This gets great publicity for both parties, which is huge for a business that is growing and a college of any caliber but especially a smaller college like Midland.
